My most significant drive for joining FCA is the opportunity to build my dream car that might one day be as good as Alfa Romeo and Jeep Grand Cherokee. It’s an honor to join FCA’s APAC Product Development team. The trainee program I am part of includes a 2-year rotation plan which involves both technical and leadership trainings. Your learning and development progress and speed depend on how efficiently you are able to learn new things. I am glad that I can work in such a creative and energetic environment with many talented engineers that make me focus on my current work, and more importantly, that gives me clarity and confidence about my future career. Joining FCA was one of my best decisions after college graduation. During the summer break of 2016, I had already worked as an intern for FCA APAC and experienced three months full of learning, practicing and progress. When I graduated a year later, I accepted the opportunity to re-join FCA APAC as a full-time employee through the Graduate Engineering Trainee Program without any hesitation. Luckily for me, when I started the engineering trainee position in FCA APAC Quality team, a new vehicle model was being launched. I am proud I can be a member of this important project in order to learn how the real industry works. The work is very challenging but also very interesting. We cooperated with the Product Development teams and local joint ventures every day to deliver the best results. As a leading company in the automobile industry, FCA’s working environment and its team-oriented culture are the perfect ingredients to make the best of products.
When we talk about off-road adventure, we talk about Jeep brand. Now I’m a part of the FCA family, of which Jeep is one of the most famous brands. I’m so excited to work here and to participate in the 2-year graduate program. I am now an engineering trainee in the interior team in Product Development. Employees here are all experienced engineers. Their professional skills and passion towards vehicles impresses me a lot. I am trying my best to study different processes and requirements of interior parts in order to become a qualified interior engineer before rotating to another function team. I think the 2-year program is a very good opportunity for every new graduate to discover how OEMs operate.
I graduated as an Automotive Engineer from ARAI – VIT University. To further pursue my interest in vehicle development, I joined FCA as a Graduate Engineering Trainee. The program is designed to help us understand the product development cycle through cross-functional training. It provides you with an opportunity to further enhance your technical knowledge of the vehicle through the various activities such as study of the bill of materials, involvement in the building process of a vehicle, benchmarking and virtual simulation of automotive components.
I believe that FCA India was one of my best decisions for pursuing an exciting career in the automotive industry. I had known very little about the company before the presentation on campus and I was instantly drawn to become a part of the FCA team. FCA is a great place to work for a passionate tech enthusiast. The first year as a Graduates Engineering Trainee set a great foundation for me, giving me the chance to have a hands-on experience in different electrical teams. I have also got the chance to visit the Ranjangaon Plant, an experience that gave me a holistic picture of the manufacturing and engineering in-house processes. FCA India also focuses on a good work-life balance. It encourages participation in various cultural programs to bring out talents and keeps a good spirit of sportsmanship. Here at FCA, you will undoubtedly be working with the best of minds, engaging individuals, and teams that believe in a lifelong process of learning and development.
As part of FCA’s orientation session during university placement drive, we were shown the commercial of Dodge Dart on “How to change cars forever.” By the end of the commercial, I was taken! That very moment I knew I had to work for FCA. Being inducted as a Graduate Engineering Trainee for Body Engineering team has had its unique perks. Having such major auto brands all under one umbrella, the Trainee program gave me the right platform to work alongside talented resources on various vehicle line-ups. I particularly had the good fortune to represent FCA in the Indian Auto Show for the unveiling of Jeep brand in the Indian market in 2016, alongside the brand’s iconic beauties such as Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler.
