As an HR Generalist in Employment, you will play a key role in our ability to deliver what we promise to our customers.
As an HR Generalist, you will assist in ensuring a smooth and efficient Manufacturing operation by providing employment support for Hourly Bargaining Unit employees to guarantee a great employee experience.
Responsibilities of this role:
- Administer the hourly employment office functions and processes, assist with workforce analysis, deployment and people power management based on contractual obligations and corporate policies
- Manage the day–to–day Employment window functions: leave tracking, reinstatements, general employee questions and support, records management, etc.
- Implement the onboarding orientation sessions for the HBU workforce
- Support the implementation and execution of our lean manufacturing methodology
- Drive a positive workplace culture by supporting plant employee engagement initiatives
- Assist with the administration of the national and local collective bargaining agreements
Key experiences and know-how
The following prior experiences will be required for someone to be successful in this role:
- Employment/Labor Relations/Manufacturing experience
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools in the context of employee development
- Analyze and utilize data to make decisions
- Experience with managing conflict and having difficult conversations
- Demonstrated ability to be approachable, able to communicate with all levels of employees, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong follow up, problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work variable shifts, including weekends
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field
- 1+ years of experience in Human Resources or related field
- Able to interact with all levels of management and Union officials to accomplish goals
- Manufacturing experience is highly desirable
